Info +
Policies

We understand that unanticipated events occur and certain incidents are not always avoidable. In our commitment to provide each individual a client-focused, outstanding massage/ therapy experience and out of consideration for our time as therapists, we have adopted the following policies. Please take the time to read this information before attending your first session.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. Thank you!

Booking

Our practice is by appointment only; services are booked through this website or by telephone. We do not take walk-ins to ensure the best, client-focused experience possible. It is strongly encouraged and preferred to book a session in advance. Same-day appointments are rarely available. Most services booked online and over the phone do require a deposit.

Our clinic is not handicap accessible as we are located in a historic school house building which has not been modified to accommodate wheelchairs or those unable to climb stairs. The parking lots and walkways to the main door of the building are accessible, however there a full interior flight to climb to reach the 2nd floor of the building on which we are located. We will make every effort to accommodate those clients that wish to receive services, but are unable to access the physical clinic.

2

Cancellation + Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours notice. In order to cancel/ reschedule your appointment with NO charge, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice. You must CALL and leave a detailed voicemail including your name, appointment date and time, and reason for the need to cancel/ reschedule. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment or do not call/ no-show, you will be charged 100% of your scheduled service. These charges will be based on the full, non-discounted rate of the service scheduled. For extenuating circumstances, you may request an exception which will be granted or denied at the discretion of the therapist only. Multiple incidents of no-shows or frequent needs to reschedule without being charged will not be tolerated.

3

Late Policy

Please arrive for your appointment 10 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. This time is to be used to get settled, use the restroom if needed, and to check in with your therapist and have our pre-session intake. All services offered have a specific time schedule and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience. If you are running late, please call (207) 814-8987 to let us know as soon as possible. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for payment of the "full" session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time.

4

Health + Liability

As health care practitioners we ask that you do not come to your session if you are ill especially if you have a contagious illness; it puts us, our families, and the other clients at risk for infection. We ask that you arrive to your session with good hygiene and cleanliness and we will do the same. It's best not to arrive to your session with a full stomach as you may experience discomfort from the techniques and body positioning during the session. For your safety, we ask that you do not come to your session under the influence of alcohol or drugs as these things may mask your body's ability to receive the therapy safely.

5

Methods of Payment

We accept the following forms of payment: credit cards and HSA cards.

Payment for your service is required in full, online at the time of booking; these payments are non-refundable, extenuating circumstances of missed appointments requiring a full or partial refund will be considered.

We pride ourselves on being an out-of-network practice - allowing us the freedom to treat our clients in the best and most optimal way we see fit, without the restrictions so often dictated by insurance. Please ask about our Superbill process, in which we can offer a receipt for treatment, which you the client then submits to your insurance company for (possible) reimbursement.

We work for our clients, not their insurance companies. Maine is a Direct Access state for Physical Therapy, meaning each and every one of our clients can make their first point of contact for assessment and treatment directly through our office without the need for a physician's referral.

6

Confidentiality + Social Behavior

Your treatment session notes and past medical history are completely confidential and stored securely in a HIPAA compliant manner. We will not release this information unless legally required to do so.

Our relationships with our clients are strictly therapeutic. Sexual, abusive and/ or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and will lead to the immediate termination of the session. In this case, full payment for the session will be required and the client will not be welcome to return.
