With Thanksgiving only a couple of days away, there will be many of you or your loved ones on their feet for hours preparing food and other goodies for the holiday. I would suggest a comfortable, yet supportive pair of shoes to protect those feet and avoid overworking your plantar fascia during those hours in the kitchen. We've hosted a couple of Friendsgivings this month, resulting in hours spent in the kitchen, standing on the hard tile floor. In hypocritical PT fashion, I noticed my own (barefoot), right foot falling victim to some plantar fascia pain while working to prep one of those meals at the counter. My quick solution in the moment was to throw some sneakers on with good arch support to alleviate the tension through that fascia and relieve the further onset of pain - and it worked, phew! Now with two more Thanksgiving meals with family later this week, I can confidently say we'll be eating something other than turkey for Christmas!
